Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: «These new events further enrich our calendar and once again demonstrate the vitality of European cycling. We are particularly pleased to introduce, for the first time in history, the Women’s Demi-Fond European Championships, which shows that gender equality has been a priority on the UEC agenda since 2021, and this initiative proves that we are moving in the right direction.»
Cordiano Dagnoni, President of the Italian Cycling Federation: «Varese is one of the key centres of Italian cycling for many reasons, from the famous Tre Valli Varesine to the World Championships won by Ballan in 2008. It has also long been the capital of Granfondo, which has now run for over 10 editions and won over enthusiasts with the beauty of its route and the quality of its organisation. The international recognition, long established through the UCI’s inclusion of the event in the Gran Fondo World Series, is now rightly enhanced by its status as a European Championships. Congratulations to SC Alfredo Binda on this prestigious distinction.
I greatly welcome the awarding of the Derny and Demi-Fond European Championships to Pordenone. This is especially because of my personal history and the strong bond I share with these disciplines. I am certain that the Amici della Pista of Pordenone Track will organise an event that showcases both the spectacle and the technical skills involved, thereby confirming the high standard of organisation within our cycling movement on the international stage.”
José Vicioso, President the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation : “For the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation, it is excellent news that Sabiñánigo will host the 2027 UEC MTB Youth European Championship. This is an event of enormous sporting and developmental value, bringing together some of the most promising young talents on the continent in one of the finest locations in our country for cycling.
Sabiñánigo and the surrounding area offer an exceptional setting for our sport, with a deep cycling tradition and an environment perfectly suited to high-level competition. We are convinced it will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the area’s great potential as a host for top-class cycling events and to inspire the next generation of riders who represent the future of European mountain biking.”
Bernd Dankowski, president of German Cycling: "We are delighted that Germany will be hosting two European cycling championships this year.
The BMX Freestyle European Championships in Darmstadt and the U23 European Cycle Ball Championships in Kamenz are impressive demonstrations of the diversity and strength of our sport. It is a great honor and a special responsibility for us to host such top-class international competitions.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local organizers, partners, and volunteers who are contributing with great dedication to make these European Championships possible.
