The capital of Slovakia, Bratislava will host the 37th Union Européenne de Cyclisme Congress on 9 March 2025. This event, which will be attended by representatives of the 51 European National Federations, represents a crucial moment for the Continental Confederation, with the election of the new Management Board for the 2025-2029 four-year term.
During the Congress, the European candidates for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Management Committee will also be chosen, as well as the European delegates for the UCI Congress, scheduled for September during the Road World Championships in Rwanda.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: ‘The UEC Congress in Bratislava is a crucial moment for the future of European Cycling. This Congress is not only an opportunity to elect the new Management Board for the four-year period 2025-2029, but also to define the strategies and priorities that will guide the development of our sport in the years to come.
It is crucial that our decisions reflect the needs and ambitions of the National Federations, which are the beating heart of European cycling. Their active participation and input are essential to ensure that the UEC's policies and initiatives are in line with the needs of all stakeholders and capable of promoting the harmonious and sustainable growth of cycling in all its forms.
In addition, the choice of European candidates for the Union Cycliste Internationale Management Committee and delegates for the UCI Congress in Rwanda will have a significant impact on the positioning of European Cycling at a global level. We want Europe to continue to play a leading role on the world cycling scene, and to do so we need to work together, joining forces and showcasing our excellence.
I would like to thank the Slovak Cycling Federation and its President Peter Privara for their warm welcome and constant support. Slovakia has already proved to be an excellent partner in the past, having successfully hosted a UEC Congress and several major European cycling events.’
Peter Privara, President of the Slovak Cycling Federation: ‘On behalf of the Slovak Cycling Federation, we are delighted to be hosting the next UEC Congress on 9 March 2025, during which delegates will have the opportunity to elect the new UEC Management Board.
We have successfully organised a Congress in the past and we believe that our country will offer an excellent welcome to delegates from European countries.’
