CADENAZZO (SWITZERLAND) READY TO HOST #EUROBMXPARK24

After the historic premiere in 2019, the Freestyle Park in Cadenazzo (Switzerland) will once again be hosting the BMX European Freestyle Championships. The event, scheduled for Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September in the Canton of Ticino, will bring together Europe's top specialists in a modern facility built to showcase the spectacular nature of this discipline, which has been on the Olympic programme since the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Among the 48 participants from 16 countries are some of the world's top specialists, including reigning European Champions Iveta Miculycova (Cechia) and Kieran Reilly (Great Britain), reigning World Champion and silver medallist at the last Olympic Games in Paris, as well as former European Champion and Paris 2024 bronze medallist Anthony Jeanjean (France) and Croatia's Marin Rantes. In terms of Women, Germany's Lara Lessman, former European Champion Nikita Ducarroz (Switzerland) and France's Laury Perez will be in attendance.

Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: «It is with great pleasure and satisfaction that we return to Cadenazzo, Switzerland, for the BMX Freestyle European Championships, in a venue that hosted the historic first edition of these Championships in 2019. This young and dynamic discipline continues to grow and gain in popularity, attracting the attention and favour of enthusiasts the world over. Just think of the recent Olympic Games in Paris, where the track at Place de la Concorde was packed during the competition days, and the excellent television ratings. All of which goes to show that BMX Freestyle is still going strong.

This year's event will be broadcast throughout Europe thanks to the agreement between the UEC and Eurovision. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Organising Committee, led by Rocco Cattaneo, whose vision and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this structure to fruition and in the further development of Freestyle in Europe, and to Swiss Cycling, with Co-Presidents Franz Gallati and Patrick Hunger, whose total commitment at European level contributes greatly to the success of this discipline.»

Rocco Cattaneo, President of the Organising Committee: «We are delighted to be hosting the BMX Freestyle European Park Championships once again, and to be welcoming fans of this discipline to Cadenazzo for two days of entertainment and pure adrenaline. Our organisational efforts are aimed at enabling our community and visitors to discover the energy and dynamism of this extraordinary Olympic discipline.

I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to making this event happen, from our partners and sponsors to the volunteers who have made every detail possible. Their support is essential if Cadenazzo is to continue to be one of the benchmarks for BMX Freestyle in Europe.»
