ENRICO DELLA CASA CONFIRMED PRESIDENT OF THE UEC

The Union Européenne de Cyclisme Congress, which was held today in Bratislava (Slovakia) with the participation of official delegates from 49 of the 51 member federations, confirmed by acclamation the Italian Enrico Della Casa as President for the four-year period 2025-2029.

During the Congress, the members of the UEC Management Board were also elected: Bernd Dankowski (Germany), Georgios Georgiou (Cyprus), Katarina Jakubová (Slovakia), Dafna Lang (Israel), Raivo Rand (Estonia), and Sabrina Tsakona Twiss (Greece).

After the confirmation of the mandate, President Enrico Della Casa declared: "Leading the Union Européenne de Cyclisme is an honour and a responsibility that I take on with the greatest commitment. In recent years, thanks to our joint work with the National Federations and our partners, we have strengthened our position on the international sporting stage, investing in the development of Youth cycling, gender equality and the consolidation of European competitions.

Our aim is to continue along this path, by further strengthening our role as a benchmark for continental Cycling.

I would like to thank the National Federations for their confidence, and I am sure that together we will continue to work for the good of our sport.

The President of the Union Cycliste Internationale, David Lappartient, who was also present at the Congress, said: "The Union Européenne de Cyclisme continues to demonstrate its fundamental role in the development and promotion of cycling in Europe.

The work carried out over the years to grow our sport, support the National Federations and organise high-level events are key elements for the future of cycling. Collaboration between the UEC and the UCI is essential to strengthen our movement and ensure that Cycling becomes increasingly accessible, safe and sustainable.

I am convinced that under the leadership of Enrico Della Casa and the new Management Board, the UEC will continue to be a point of reference for continental and international cycling".

Immediately after the conclusion of the Congress, the new UEC Management Board appointed Katarina Jakubová (Svk), Raivo Rand (Est) and Georgios Georgiou (Cyp) as Vice-Presidents and Alasdair MacLennan (Gbr) as General Secretary.

During the Congress, the European candidates for the UCI Management Committee and the fifteen voting delegates for the UCI Congress, scheduled for 25 September during the UCI Road World Championships in Kigali (Rwanda), were also elected.
